Tryouts: Monday, 8/11, through Friday, 8/15
McDowell Mountain Ranch Pool, next to Desert Canyon Middle School
4:30 – 6:30 pm Monday – Friday
High School Swimmers and Divers: Obtain a GO PASS (you must have a complete
sports physical to obtain a Go Pass!) from the high school office before
school starts. Bring the Go Pass and swim gear (suit, goggles, fins) Monday
afternoon, 8/11, at 4:30 pm. There will be more forms to fill out and
pool practice the first day. The fee for the team is $100+ per student,
covering a spirit outfit, two psych dinners, the end of season banquet
and prizes, as well as snacks on the buses, along with some administrative
items. This will be collected at the mandatory Parent Meeting Monday evening,
8/18. The activity fee to the Scottsdale Unified School District is $75
(full tax credit), the same for all Varsity sports or activities. This
will be paid at the DMHS Bookstore in the week after the roster is announced
on Friday, 8/15. The swimmer athlete is also responsible for purchasing
the team suit/cap package, which will also be distributed at the parent
meeting.
USS Swimmers/USD Divers: Please report Monday evening after 6 pm with
GO PASS (see above!) and with printouts of current times/scores. Be prepared
to spend about 30-60 minutes meeting with the coaches and completing paperwork.
We will see you again for the mandatory practice Friday afternoon. Divers
will receive practice times from the dive coach on Monday.
Our season runs from August 11 through the beginning of November (with
States in November.) Dual meets are directly after school on Tuesdays,
Wednesdays and Thursdays. We are bused to and from meets; for practice,
a normal bus run is available to take students to the public library at
Desert Canyon Middle School, where they can study for an hour before practice
time. (No bus service is provided from practice afterwards.) See tentative
